If someone asserts something and you don’t agree, there are really only a handful of moves you can make, which all collapse pretty neatly into your triad: defend, surrender or invite.

In that tiny fork in the road, that moment when someone says, “Here’s how it is” and your whole system quietly replies, “No, it isn’t”, your next move reveals a lot about your freedom, your relationships, and your internal sovereignty.
